Business support grants for Internally displaced mothers and vulnerable women.

It is no doubt that in the face of a crisis women are most vulnerable in terms of losing their jobs, relocating and focusing on family and even violence . Over 70% of women and girls are vulnerable and will become highly financially dependent on others for subsistence hence the splurge in violence cases. As part of our psychosocial support program and rehabilitation program under the Gender Fund of our organization, we are focused on promoting SDG 5 by encouraging nurturing and supporting vulnerable and internally displaced mothers and girls with small business support grants as a means of providing them a more sustainable means of income and livelihood support. This way, they can provide for and cater for their families and needs.

In this case , most of them are mothers victims of gruesome circumstances as a result of the civil unrest in the north west and south west regions of Cameroon who have almost given up on life. A token business grant , has helped many of them under our guidance and monitoring to set up small scale business such as provision stores, local farm to market sale in their own communities and poultry farming.

Our program has supported over 6 women with start up capital especially in the city of Douala and we hope to extend our reach to more women and vulnerable girls. To find out more on how you can be part of our small support grants scheme , helping mothers and vulnerable women get their lives back, regain confidence, while providing for their families, please leave us a mail, message or comment.
